I'm a AC Delco fan myself. DieHards are cool too. Any battery will do the job though, just may not have as good a warranty if it's a cheap one.

As a Sear Automotive Employee, I recommend the Die Hard Gold Group 78. $79.99+ tax and you get a 3 year free replacement, and 8.5 year limited warranty. If you live in central NJ, come see me!! The group 78 I belive has some 795 CCA's which is fine for your car. It might even have more power then that?

I got my last one from Auto Zone ,the one I bought has a five year pro-rated warrenty with the first two years free replacement ,I had a current drain and it killed two batteries before I found it ,they replaced them with no questions. That beats Die Hard ,and Delco's warrenty hands down plus it was a little cheaper.

Well opps ,I quess Sears has a three year replacement now ,they didn't have that when I bought mine ,but I didn't pay $80 either.

so the higher the group the better it is?
so try and get the best group for the money

as of now i actually have a pathetically small battery that came witht the car i got asked once if that battery was for my quad or motorcycle? i dunno why its so small i think it has like 550 CCA

it doesnt seem to be holding 12.6 volts when i leave the car for the night in the morn it has something like 12.3 or 12.2and the longer i leave it the lower it goes otherwise it runs just fine and doesnt have too much trouble starting (maybee a little bit of trouble but it always starts)
of and it makes a weird hissing noise after being charged in a charger or when i turn the car off or if i squeeze the sides of the battery a little bit. and has some liquid coming out so unless this is normal then i think i need a new battery

Stock will work fine for a summer car and if you leave it outside in the winter, get as many CCAs as you can that will fit. Stay away from the gel stuff

Just a thought, you could get a longer set of cables and mount it in the trunk on the right side of the car. That would help.

WHY CANT I FIND THE DELCOS!!

well i always thought that diehards were suposed to be really great, until someone told me about how they arent what they are cracked up to be, i went to sears and they had a regular with 525 CCA for 59.99 a silver with 635 CCA for 69.99 and a gold with 690 CCA for 79.99

autozone has one with 650 CCA for i think 54.99 with 2 year free replace

i wanna get a delco but i dunno where to get one

Most Gm dealers carry them, but unless your doing a restore I would get the Auto Zone battery, Most batteries don't hold up as long as claimed for all kinds of reasons (ie. cold, heat, vibration, over charging,etc.,etc.)and that long warrenty is mostly PRO-RATED which means you are going to pay something for the new battery. I have found over the years that you should buy the battery that has the best warrenty with the cheapest price ,and when it fails buy another if it is passed the free part or past the first year of pro-rateing ,after that it is USUALLY a wast of money. That's just my oppinion ,I could be wrong.

Hmm ive heard nothing but complains about AC delco. Alot of people have told me if you drain the battery completley its going to loose alot more life than most other batteries.
