Wanted to know what others think...

Just wanted to see what others thought about this setup:

The engine is running about 11:1 comp with OHIO hyperutectic domed pistons, chevy X rods, cast crank, with a 1977 2 bolt main block with the 20/10 (high nickle/tin casting) designation. The heads are GMs Double Hump heads, and have been pocket ported, had one piece manley valves installed, with radiused valve seats, new springs, and have full roller rockers (1.5:1)

Intake is an Edelbrock Performer, and feeding it all is a Quadrajet that is in need of a rebuild. The car runs good, but is a little hard starting due to the shafts on the caburator wearing out.

Thing goes good, but trying to see where it can improve!

Thanks

i would say some type of cam upgrade to match your setup, then look into rearend gears and maybe a higher stall torque converter.

So you think a stall converter may be the answer....

Re: Wanted to know what others think...

well it all depends what you want to do. To me it sounds like you have upgraded your motor a bit, but left the stock camshaft in i'm assuming??? with a cam to match your setup you can really unleash some more horsepower. You could see upwards of 50 or 60 horse just by doing a camshaft swap if your still using a stock cam....

drivetrain upgrades like rearend gears and higher stall converters are a pretty easy way to shave some time off your qaurter mile and make for a lot more fun of a car...

with like a 2800-3000 rpm stall and some 3.73's you could shave almost a second off your quarter mile time without even touching your motor...
