good news! this past weekend, I picked up an LT1 block. and soon to pickup the heads, intake and performance cam! putting together the list of things to get. having the block machined into a stroked 383. just wanted to share the good news.

 

Sweet! 383 What did you get done to the block clearancing wise? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it run you? Just the machine shop work that is. Good luck! What heads/cam are you going with?

Congrats. Should be quite an improvement over that 5.0 TBI you have.

 

Well, I just picked up the bare LT1 block, no work done yet, got it from a buddy for free. Have to get estimates on the machine work yet and then get all the pieces together. But yes the tbi 305 will sooner than later be in my rearview mirror!

305TBi's only run mid to low 15's.....

so the 383 is going to be an awsome increace....

I had 2 LO-3's one did 15.30's other did 15.20's not bad for worn out stock 305TBI's but still not really all that fast for third gen..
