very confused, Alt wiring..HELP!!!
very confused, Alt wiring..HELP!!!
The wire that runs off the alternator that charges the battery, goes near where the battery is on the passenger side of the car, and into this black cylinder. Now that little black cylinder has two other wires that also plug into it, then come out into a weather pack connector, whos wiring then dissapears into the wiring harness.
What are these two little wires that go into that piece? I have a brand new wire to run from the alt to the starter but it would bypass those two little wires.

Why are you running a wire from the alternator to the starter? There should be a two-wire plug on the engine harness that goes to the voltage regulator in the alternator. The wire on the back of the alternator that's on the stud and should be at least 10 gauge wire, runs to the +12v terminal on the battery. Not sure what the box is that you're talking about. The only wires that should be going to the starter would be the +12v cable right from the battery, the purple signal wire from the starter relay, and the power feed to the fuse block from the starter.
