unibody
i guess ill just spend 80 bucks elsewere instead of installing SFC's...since they arent nessesary,...cuz if a few cars out of what 220,000 can run without them then i should be able to right?
Anyone that wants to run insane amounts of power without them, then go for it...cuz if u can spend 1200 bucks on some heads and other crap whats 300 bucks FOR A FULL FRAME, and piece of mind...donest seem to wise huh..rather put out 500 ponies then keep a strait car..lol ooooooook...maybe this will entice you....SFC's will shave 2-3 tenths off your 60 ft..
my buddies factory 88 L98 formy ran a 14.6,,installed SFC;s and nothing else 14.2...
Bottom line SFC's will increase the strenght of the car 100% and also make it quicker....now if you think that if a few cars can run that much power and nothing happpen there nothign more then luckey...and your misinformed

I never argued the point that you shouldn't run SFCs, as you are ***uming, but rather that they are not absolutely necessary. Someone on here said that these cars could not handle 500HP even with SFCs - thats where I argued, and where you obviously got lost... If it honestly thought that SFC were a waste, then why did I put them on my car?
Sorry for jumping in, but if I install subframes on my 85z with a 477 big block that has 600 ponies at the flywheel, my 60`s will go down 3-4 tenths from 1.6?

Did you not see my original post? You know, the one where I recommended the SFC's?

some was towards you some and some wasnt
....My point was that SFC's are nessesary for that type of power...that dude is just lucky...VERY LUCKY...3rd gen cars will handle a lot of power with subframes...baddest305 on thirdgen.org runs a 434 in. small block 634 horse and 610 ft pounds i think...and his car is strait as an arrow...my buddy ran about 380-400 ponies without subframes and broke his t-tops...
i bet that guy has subframes but didnt list it becasue he wants everyone to think hes cool or somthing...im sorry i just CANT beleive a stock unibody 3rd gen taking 500 without subframes...with T-TOPS!!....
i do tend to ASSumse sometimes to

I thought it hard to believe too. Until I saw the above mentioned 91Z. He has run 10.80s on it, without any chassis reinforcement. And when I asked him why, he replied that it was unnecessary. And taking into condsideration that he has one of the fastest drag radial cars in the world (low 8s), he knows how to setup a chassis. Regardless, I run them on my car and still recommend them.

Personally i think is hes playing russian roulette, but he put 5 in it instead of 1
.....Maybe if he had a 4 link or someother trick setup...i bet he uses the stock stamped steel torque arm to huh lol..Was it the stock type setup?
I just cant justify spending enough money to run 10's, having to install all that safety equipment, litteraly put your hard earned money and time into it, and not spend 300 bucks for a part that will not only make your car faster on launch, but theyll keep the car strait...

And hard earned money/time? The guy races for a living, and makes a ton of money doing it since he is one of the top Renegade and Drag Radial cars in NMRA and NMCA. The Z28 is his play toy, and he has less than $10K in the entire car.
I've personally witnessed that car pull 1.5 60' times. He's been doing it for years, and will continue to do it without any problems. There are no cracks or ripples in the quarter panels, the doors open/shut like new, and the car tracks down the road as straight as any other.
