Dark Jugs,
your car sounds pretty stout, any clue how much power it makes? Is it carb'd or TPI? 4.10's and a 700R4 is insane, especially if you have TPI. I'm sure first gear is useless unless you already put on some extremely sticky tires. What are the cam specs and what compression do you think the engine is? In my opinion, I'd go with a 3000-3600 depending on what intake and cam you have. If it's aftermarket TPI, i'd go with 3000, if it's carburated and revs hard to at least 6000 rpm, I'd go 3600. I Need to see cam specs first. Street car shmeet car, I drive around with a 5000, and my last 4200 was tame as a kitten(a rabid, hissing kitten)
Subframe connectors, ET Street Radials, 3600 stall, 4.10 gear, 700R4....It should cut 60 foot times in the 1.50-1.60 range if the rear axle can handle the torque multiplication!

im not sure of exact specs on my cam, i belive its around 312 advertised duration, and i know the lift is over 500. im out of town atm, first time i didnt have my cam card in my wallet
but no it doesnt hold first gear. it boils through first i hit 2nd with in about 1 sec or less, or it will throw me up automatically into 2nd gear. and in 4th gear it kicks me back down when i break 4.5k rpm.
and i have a holly 750 double pumper for a carb.
im still workin outthe bugs. i have manual lock up for the trans but have yet to do manual shift. im tryin to decide if im gonna go with a 6 speed or a t350 or keep 700r4. ill gladly accept any advice =)
ill be home tomarrow night, so i can give exact specs of cam tomarrow.
