Well the power hatch release on my dads 86 Iroc is broke right now. The motor continues to run so I think the gear nut is broke. It wouldnt be such a big deal if we could get the trunk shut all the way. We can get it to latch but its not secure. Is there any way we can get it closed right???

 

Take it apart and have a look. when mine spazzed, it was the polycarbonate body that broke. Dealership had it, just transfer the guts over.

 

mine took a crap awhile ago and i just unplugged the connectors from the motor, loosened the whole assembly and moved it up as far as it would go,a dn with a good slam it catches and holds, then just use the key to open it.
