TRue dual side pipes

Tomorow i am getting a custom job for my 1989 formula, i am taking the converging pipe out and running true dual side pipes, at 2.5" for each pipe then two bullet style mufflers hidden in the driveshaft tunnel out to dual outlet chrome tips in the front of each rear wheel angled toward the back so that they dont stick straight out. It will cost me $280, does that seem like a good price and has anyone had experience with those kind of clearance issues, i know that speedbumps are a NO NO - but that doesnt bother me in texas.

Hey man, I would love to do something like that with my iroc, eventually. Ive seen it done before, so clearance might be okay. Your car isnt lowered is it?

Lets see some pictures when the job is finished, I would love to get an idea of what this would look like on my Camaro.

Sounds like it will be awesome...literally, I bet that will have a nice tone.

Its a sound you cant replicate thats for sure, i am having the tips angled back so it wont look akward, but preferably i would use the setup on a car with a skirt kit to incorperate the setup into the body and make them compliment one another - pics will be up the moment i stop drooling long enough to take them lol

I wish I had pics, but a friend of mine collects players camaros(R7U/A4u cars)

they run dual side pipes with caps so they can run through the muffler in the back or dump it out the sides, the side dumps look cool

edit: go to page 5 on my cardomain site about half way down the white players car has a ok shot of the dump

Re: TRue dual side pipes

thats exactly how im going to run mine, it looks awsome - but i may se if i can shave down a Z28 skirt kit for my brid. It would make it look alot smoother. I figured why let speedbumps ruin my fun, so im going to try running simple true dual dual tipped pipes on each side angled just like the players cars.

Re: TRue dual side pipes

Im trying to get pics, but aparently my digi cam doesnt like its flash and wont work - But to update you i was told that the exhaust is the equivalent of a 4" system. Each bank of the 350 is covered by a full cat/bullet/2.5" exhaust pipe...so i suppose technicaly a 5" exhaust which really isnt needed until i start replacing heads and pumping up compression with a Vortech charger. But it can be done for a small fee of $290 which isnt bad for getting the entire system including dual chrome tips.
