Smile Transmission Question

I recently purchased my IROC - 1987 305TPI - The transmission was rebuilt within the last six months and works fine........except for an extremely hard first - second shift. If I'm accelerating other than a light touch it really bangs into second gear. Now don't get me wrong I like good solid shifts but I'm just not sure whether this is to violent.

Should I be patient with it and let it break in more?

Am I overreacting?

Is it possible to adjust the firmness of the one - two shift without removing the transmission?

I'm really not sure what to think.

But do some research on it. You can destroy the transmission by setting incorrectly.

Re: Transmission Question

I was surprised just how easy the TV cable adjustment was. The shift points are normal now. Again, you folks have been dead on with your advice. Thanks Again
