My g/f's son has an 88 Camaro with a 2.8 with an m5. The Trans mount broke, and he is having trouble finding a new one. I was pretty sure they are the same part for all engines, but I dont want to tell him to pick one up for a V8 if it isnt going to work.

i believe all 3rd gens use the same 700r4 tranny, but i could be mistaken

regardless, i work for autozone and when i get bored i look up parts,
and all 3rd and 4th generation f-bodies use the same exact transmission mount, and u can get an energy suspension polyeurethane mount for pretty cheap, no special ordering
shouldnt be hard to find, anything from 82-2002

 

just go to any autozone or go to autozone.com and they will have what you're looking for.

 

yes, i am also pretty sure that they are the same....i wouldnt bet the farm on it, but 90% sure

 

as far as third gens they are the same mount for a v6-v8 and auto-manual. Should all be the same part.

 

most do, but there was a really stupid set-up that used secondary ones(like body mount pucks), a really weak cross member, ect., if it has that kind, get a normal C/M from a junkyard
