Question Tranny mount?

My 83Z 5 speed clunks when I put it in reverse, or pop the clutch a little too fast. Sound like a tranny mount? The sound seems to be coming from the rear end.
Also, I have posted this question before with no response: My clutch is really stiff on release in 1st or reverse. I recently had the motor out and could not find anything wrong with the throwout bearing or shaft. If I shoot grease up on the shaft, it will be OK for a week or so. Any ideas at all? It it possible that the race on the bearing is a little out of round, even though it looks fine? I could really use some ideas, Thanks

Unhappy

I would check the u-joints for the clunk
problem, although 3rd gen tranny crossmembers
are quite weak as well.

when i have these problems i had someone outside the car trying to pin point the location of the noise they should be able to tell if it's rear or right by the tranny. If it is the tranny you should feel it hit the bottom of the body.

Ya, my 86Z does the same thing. Under hard acceleration from a stop, it feels like the tranny is gonna come through the motherf*cking floor pan I never really realized this, as I don't usually put the car under any stressful driving, but lately, I have and the problem seems like it should be taken care of fairly soon! Cheap part, but a good idea to get it taken care of.

Ya, go with the Poly one, I broke a new rubber one right after I put it on and took the car for a spin.
My shifter would go up when I'd step on the gas and down when I let off.
