Ok im trying to take off my tranny cross member….. I supported the tranny and unscrewed the tranny mount bolt… I cant seem to get the bolts attached to the frame/cross member off is there any trick to this or is it just plain muscle? Could there still be to much weight from the frame on the cross member? Or like I said am I to much of a wuss?????? It’s a 84 sports coupe z28

Whatever you do...don't reuse the bolts. Get new ones and use Loctite or something like that. Mine broke--all four. I tried heat and no heat. Impact and just muscle. With barely a hair of a turn, they all broke. Just my luck. Oh well...got drill out and retap.

 

I broke one off its not fun drilling and tapping when you're on your back with no leverage.
