Tps Adjustment and picking up some extra throttle
Tps Adjustment and picking up some extra throttle
got a question was wondering if buy adjusting your tps sensor either up or down is thier a way to make it dump more fuel in the motor kinda like trick it out and get more throttle response or is this soley impossible. the tps enhancer was not made for a 305
No, adjusting the TPS outside the .55-.58 V range won't get you anything, believe me, I tried it a long time ago.
If you want better throttle response, sometimes it works to set your idle screw to open the throttle blades open a little more.

Does nothing really. That is unless your EPROM burner has told you to set it to a certain spec. Mine wants to see 0.6V but it really doesn't matter as when your car is turned on, it would take the first voltage it sees as the base voltage.
By making sure the ECM sees 4.50V at WOT you CAN esure you reach "enrichment mode"(designed to give more fuel and spark advance), you can do this and still maintain .54v at idle for a MAF type or .70v for a Speed Density type...but you'll have to "egg" the mounting holes and tinker with finding just the right position...
An overlooked throttle response killer is a sliding floor mat, if it gets up under the pedal it will limit pedal travel.
Another is a partially clogged fuel filter...

AFAIK, the 0.54V was because the EPROM used that as a baseline. In the SD system, the EPROM would use whatever it read at startup. I always thought it was 0.6V. The reason people put it to 0.7V was because at that voltage, the EPROM would assume that it was off idle. I have seen people do the same on Fords. Never found the need to.
