TPI motor upgrades?
TPI motor upgrades?
Hi everyone, I'm new to the site, but it from what I have read it seems as if a lot of you know what you're talking about when it comes to your Camaros.
Here's the question:
I just bought a 350 TPI motor from a 1988 Camaro, and I plan on putting it into a S 10 blazer. What types of upgrades are out there for the TPI motor? A lot of what I see is for LT1 motors.
One more question, will an intake manifold from an LT1 motor bolt up in place of the TPI? And if so, can I supercharge it with an LT1 supercharger?

A lower cost swap would be Holley's New "Stealth Ram" intake and fuel rail for under $600. They claim a gain of over 50+HP.

This is what I'm going to do when I get my 350 TPI (About to buy a 90 IROC 350 project car!!!! woo hoo!) I found it in the Fall 2002 edition of 'Camaro Performers' It's a 350 TPI with the Vortech heads and Intake kit, LT4 Hotcam, 1.6 roller rockers, 52mm throttle body, Edelbrock High Flow Runners and 15 degrees of base timing. It's good for 357hp! Not too shabby for a third gen!
I've got March's steel set, and yes there's a definite increase there. One thing tho, at night at stops, the lights dimm just a little and the Volt gage hits 9v...
I bought them after my serpentine belt broke one night on the way home. I found myself driving slow conserving the battery, and got picked on by a Ford. We'll w/o my belt my car pulled like an animal!!!
So I ordered a set the next day, and yes, you can feel the difference!
