tpi, code 34
so yesterday at a light my car died, threw a code, and was fine the rest of the evening, this afternoon she died again and threw a code, so i jumped out and decoded her, and she gaveme code 34 which is mass air flow sensor signal voltage low, either its going bad or its not getting enough air is what i came up with, now bieng i just replaced the mass air flow april 2003 or last year, i decieded to cleanout my k and n filters which had quite a bit of bugs on them cause i have the ram air set up, anybody have any input on this

There is a reason K&N includes a disclaimer with their filters concerning MAF equipped vehicles. All car manufacturers recommend against them.
Excessively oiling the the filters can contaminate the MAF sensor, and cause it to go bad. GM included a MAF burnoff for the early TPI cars, which heats the element to nearly 1000*F to burnoff contamination. It does the job well (but shortens MAF lift significantly), but it was never intended to burn off oil.
Try to clean the sensor element with an electronic parts cleaner, and NOT a carb cleaner or similar solvent. If that fails, chances are you will need another MAF.

I actually took it to someone with a scanner, then bought my own. The only way we knew was the O2 sensor reading low. Basically, make sure the system is working good, then go through each thing at a time. First thing would be to check the MAF. There is a way to do that with a multimeter...
FYI..I go the OBD1 scanner on ebay for like $55....
