Torque question on 87 L98!!!!!!!!!!
Why is it that the 1987 IROC l98 has its peak torque at 2800RPM and all the other year L98's have peak torque at 3200RPM? I only noticed because I own an 87. I have searched many different web sites and they all have the same torque figures. Here is one site http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/G...motorspec.html
Re: Torque question on 87 L98!!!!!!!!!!
possibly because 87 had a 9.0:1 compression ratio?
88-92 had a b2l 350 tpi with 9.3:1 compression ratio
its pretty weird, only in 87 is the engine called an l98 from 88-92 its called b2l

OK. I never noticed the cams. Thanks. Here is another site. It also shows the 87 L98 as 9.3:1 www.f-body.org/tech/tech.htm
The L98 is the engine name 86-92. The B2L is the GM option code for the engine
