Red face Torque Arm Placement ON FORD 9 INCH???

I am going to have to go with a FORD 9 inch because I will be making 550 - 600 rwhp and in doing so I won't have aplace to bolt on my nice new MAC torque arm relocation kit. WHat do guys do about this dilemma?? I would like to put this piece of equipment on my car but what do you do when you go Ford 9 Thanks guys.

I believe strange engineering or maybe moser would have a bracket made for the 9" rear. Start there and see what they say.

you can use a moser or strange 12 bolt they dont have to have the braket but you do have to pay out a few more $$$$ plus if you plan on using this as a street cars I have heard the posi in the 9" is not as good as the 12 bolts something about only having clutch packs on one side...I know a guy who has a 9" and has the braket it is all from moser but it has a locker he also runs the stock tq. arm on a 1.46 60 ft

I have a 9" Ford rear in two third gens. Both are Moser units- http://www.moserengineering.com/mose...ts.asp?CatID=8
I use a Detroit locker and 3.73 gear. Both put over 600 HP to the wheels-no issues.

You can order a complete bolt in unit with torque arm mount, etc

I assumed he already had the 9" and was looking to adapt it to a third-gen considering pretty much all bolt in application 12 bolt and 9" rears come set up with the torque arm mounting points. If you are indeed fitting a home built 9" into your car(wich many people do) call up moser or strange and get the torque arm mounting bracket for your application. They do in fact sell the bracket that you can attach to I think any 9" housing. If you are talking about buying a complete bolt in unit then just order it up as a complete bolt in.

I think Currie is the only one that sells the mounting bracket seperate. You need to weld mounts onto the housing. The bracket bolts to the mounts and the torque arm bolts to the bracket.

The bracket kit was around $150 last time I checked.

I use a spool in my 9" so I don't worry about clutches.
