Question how much horsepower ????

Hey everyone ,
I was just wondering.. If I cut my cat. and put a straight pipe on, and put a flowmaster on , how many horses am i looking at gaining ? thanks ..

probably 3 to 5 hp.you probably won't feel it but you will hear it

Thanks man , one question though, should i put a straight pipe on ? is there anything else i can do to increase horsepower in this area ? thanks ..

I think you will gain more power than that. Prolly closer to 10 or more. If your cat is at all clogged even more. If you ahve a really built motor even more power. It all depends on a stock motr not too much.

Lose the whole set-up and get true duals and some full length headers and an X-pipe not a H-pipe a X-pipe, X- pipes are known to give faster flow than h-pipes and dyno tests show the same gains with x-pipes as running full length open headers..

You can't run a true dual set up like what you are describing on a third gen. I have two friends that are pretty much only guys in the province that have true dual and they are both dual pipes that follow the route of the original pipe.

Thanks fellas for all your insight. J/W have any of you cut your cats? If so what did you put on to replace it ? 10 or more horses sounds bad as$ to me !

Check the sig. I work at a parts warehouse, and I put together a "patch" that goes in place of the Cat.

I am making duel exhaust for mine? x pipe that will be able to be taken apart so I can remove it if it is stopping me from doing something.
