Post Torque Arm?

Hey I have a question I was wondering if any of ya'll have a Spohn Torque Arm with hiem joint? I have one and I am really getting tired of the noise it makes. I have figured that it is coming from the two pieces that meet together in the middle where the boot goes over. I was wondering if any of ya'll have had this problem and if ya'll have any suggestions? Please help. thanks

Mine is not very noisy at all. I do have LCA's with the spherical bearing (heim joint) on one end. They are noisy around town but are completely quiet above about 40 mph. Is your TA tight? The upper fastener where the spherical bearing is should be tight, and the lower tightened to 30 ft lbs to allow rotation fwd and aft. The rear joints should be tight, and the mount to axle housing about 95-100 ft. lbs. My TA is only noisy when the trans hits 2nd or 3rd gears but I figure thats due to the firm shift kit in the transmission torqueing the axle during gear changes. The one problem I'm having is a vibration at about 80-90 mph that's driving me up a wall. I've replaced the u-joints and tail shaft yoke bushing, had the tires and drive shaft balanced, and checked the pinion angle enough to the point I'm dreaming about it. I also removed the 3/16" shim Energy Suspension supplies with the poly trans mount. Everything I've done has made it better (it was at 65 mph) but not completely done away with it. I'm about ready to buy an aluminum drive shaft. I guess that could be the deal, don't know, we'll see. I want to tune on this TA a little more because of the nature of the vibration. It doesn't feel like a balance problem, it seems to have a faster frequency than does an out of balance problem, indicating a possible driveline angle problem. Anyone know the difference in the installed height of the ES poly mount vs. a factory unit maybe the trans is not at the correct height causing the front u-joint angle to be off, a lot of people are having vibration problems with the poly mounts.

All heim joint suspensions will be noisy. You get heim joints for performance not Sunday driving.

You're either going to have to live with the noise or convert to poly bushings.

Stephen, you are absolutely correct, if noise is an issue stay away from the race stuff. I just have issues with the vibration on my Z. The set up is not supposed to vibrate, at all. I'm sure that even full race cars don't vibrate like this.
