The 2 I like in stock(IROC) 16" size are the BFG Comp T/A ZR's and the Goodyear GSC's. They look a lot wider than most the same size. They have good tracion dry and handle better in rain too. Some people like to go with the stock 245/50/16's up front and 255/50/16 rear for a slight "rake"or raise in the rear.
But on the stock wheels I prefer the stock sizes, not much benefit to larger tires on the 16"rims. (unless slicks)If you want more rubber go with 17"wheels. There were some good posts on them recently.

I went with Goodyear GT IIs I beleive they are called due the their wear number of 420. I have had the tires for 3 years and they could almost pass for brand new. They don't wear at all. Problem with that is the best 60 ft. time I can pull is a 2.5. I can't get traction to save my life. I was gonna wait till they wore out and get a softer tire but I might not be able to wait that long.

My point is stick to something in the 300 or less range for wear if you want any traction.

I hope I am spelling wear right.

michelin pilots if you don't have a budget they are the best.

if you have a budget then it just depends on style.

i'd go with bfg, nitto, toyo as a second choice.

the michelin pilots i had in 16's were the best investment i ever made. 0 road noise and great in all situations of weather as well as at the track.

tire rubber is all that is separating you from the road, it's the most important choice you can make.

I thought GS-C's were discontinued???

Anyways, I have BF Goodrich G-force T/A's on my ride and love'em. Great wet traction and nice dry as well. Much nicer than the Comp T/A's IMO.

No, they're not discontinued. Tire Rack lists them for $156, but you used to be able to get them as take offs at SLP for $399 a set!
Their traction is "A" and treadwear is 180/220, it's a softer stickier high performance tire, they're directional and quiet at speed and are agressive cornerers. I love mine, they way they look and handle. They are about a 1/2 inch wider than almost all others the same numerical size.
Oh, check out the Porsche "RUF"(0-60 3.2sec) Turbo flying the NEW Eagle F1's on Goodyear's web site!
