i did some research for ya kris, and what i could find is that the tach filter is a very mysterious thing, some f-bodys have it and some dont.

if you do have it, it should be mounted on the firewall behind the dist. cap, it looks like an oversized points condenser, it should be gray, 1/2 inch in diameter by 1 inch long, it should have two white wires going into it.

All I just described is if you even have it beacuse from what I hear later model 3rd gens didnt have the filter.

Also if this is any help, people with MSD Ignition have had problems with an erratic tach, so maybe you wanna contact MSD???

hope this helps,
Pablo

Wow. Its been a while since I have talked to you guys. Whats new? I fixed my tach problem. The wire that runs from the back of the firewall(where it connects to the cluster) to the coil was dying. I cut the wire out and have a new section in and its great. Did you guys get to the car show? I went Friday nght and saw a bunch of smoke shows. Then went out on Saturday(first Saturday off in 3-4 weeks) and we put the Viper in. The show was awesome and I saw Shauns car there too. Did you guys see the Denalli with the 23"/24" wheels and the whipple charger?! There was this old hotrod out there on Friday that sounded pretty good but when he tried to smoke em he couldnt and got booed. Poor guy. Anyways just wanted to say hi and give Pablo the one finger wave he gave me.LOL.J/k.

Long time no talk or see for that matter. Glad you got your tach problem fixed, now its time to move on to the tuning on the beast, so u can run at mission(and kill some stangs) ... as for me, well my car is now offcialy parked for the winter, i needed the money in a big way and winter is coming so i put her to sleep. Also this way i can save up for all the mods im gonna be doing in the next few years. I wanted to go to the langley show soo bad, i heard it was packed and there were tons of nice rides, maybe next year?
Aight see ya soon man, why dont you give us a call either me or Ken, and we could go out for some drinks or something? jus an idea...

cheers,
Pablo

Hey Kris! Glad to hear you got that tach fixed!

I've been a little pr-occupied with a punk trying to scam me on the board for a 6 speed.

I didn't get to go up to the show at all. My sister left for Portugal on Friday night. Then on Saturday it was my godson's b-day in the morning and a old friend's b-day at the ho-zone that same night.

My cousins whanted to go up with me on Sunday but I toldthem it was going to rain. they didn't beleive me... I love it when I'm right!

Kris, do you golf?

Hey Ken. I tried golfing once but the bottles kept clanging in the bag and well drinking was more getting more fun as golfing started to get worse. Anyways can you email me some pics of your pillar pod with gauges. Im just about ready to buy the air/fuel and oil press. gauges along with the Holley AFPR.
