Thnkn bout puttin a 350 into a 89 RS

i have an 89 Camaro RS with a blown v6 in it....

was thinking about putting in a 350

if anyone here can explain or give a website to what is needed to do to transfer in.

can i just rip out all tha computer crap and just throw it in the old fashioned way?

help is much appreciated.....

i have done it already in an 89 and i am also putting an l98 vett motor in an 89. what are u lookin to do with it do u want the overdrive or are u lookin to move away from it .

yeah i want to keep the overdrive.

i might be getting a rebuilt 350 out of an 83 Monte Carlo....

if u want to remove the computer u will have to get a vacume switch for the trans it is simple to install. the hardest part was the wires that were there for the tbi i cut all but i think 10-12 wires i can check and let u know which ones i didnt cut. a haynes manual will also help u know what to keep. i discarded my guages and made a plate to put auto meter guages in for every thing i dont have ne problems with the car, the trans will bolt right in if ur keepin the 700

oh and is there a specific Haynes book that i need to pick up?

just get the manual for ur 82-92 camaro
i havent had a chance to get to the wires but if u want to begin the swap just pull all the wires to the driverside and let it hang out side i will get to it hopefully this week

Exactly. A 350 TPI swap would be ideal, and fairly easy. I remember a few years back when a guy (David Tuschhoff??) with a blue RS did a TPI swap and had a GREAT detailed write-up about it.

How much money you want to spend? You could rip all the stuff out and get the HSR with the Holley EMC or you could get Accel DFI.
