my 87 camaro has the 2.77 gears (which are truly great on gas), and i'm looking to upgrade to the 3.27 gears. you say it's really expensive... how much are we talking? and do you know exactly what needs modifying?

 

hey question i know your gonna say spin my wheels and take my cover off. but an 87 iroc with a 305 auto most likley came with what gears. and will a set of 373 move me faster off the line

 

3.73's will be a definite improvement. I don't know what most had as far as gears but other than your two, they also should be listed in the RPO codes

You have a 9-bolt right? I don't know what kind of modifying is needed but go to www.9bolt.com and look at the prices. The gears alone are $expensive$ as crap

holy crap thats nuts. there has got to be a cheaper way of going about this... maybe getting lucky at a junkyard? I probably won't have this done for a loong time though, so i have a while to think about it. What rear gears u got, rippin? just curious.

 

back when I put my 88 iroc-z together i found a complete L98 with only 13k miles on it for $1300. heck of a deal if you ask me
