thinkin about gettin the holley SR

im gettin ready to put in 3.42 gears in my 87 350 IROC (once i get the parts and everything). then hopefully soon after that i wanna buy the holley stealthram. does it accept all the computer wireing harness connections as the normal TPI does? and if i do this, will the plastic piece that the air goes through from the air filters into the throttle boddy still work?

what else should i look out for? i also want to put on some roller rockers, prob. 1.6. any thoughts?

thanx all

yes you can use all your TPI hookups. And yes the airbox still will connect, though you might need to see if the stuff rubs your hood anywhere because the HSR sits an inch or two higher.

Becareful of 1.6 rockers if your heads or block have ever been surfaced. The pushrod may rub if a enough material has been removed from either surface.

what aron said and be prepared to make a couple trips to your local auto parts store (I just finished this swap myself) gaskets..intake, thermostat, throttle body call come in a kit you can buy from fel-pro (highly recomended) a new water neck for your thermostat housing, couple brass fitings for misc. fuel lines that your going to have to fabricate up, two that go in/out of the fuel rails your direct line and your return line(i settled with the indestructable goodyear rubber hose), new upper radiator hose, new heater hose(stock one will be too short) Thats all I can think of for now, oh and also....your going to have to bend the bracket that is located on the driver sode of the plenum becuase the Stealth Ram plenum sits up forward more and highrt then the TPI unit does so your gonna have to bend if forward a little bit so the throttle cable can reach otherwise when you go to accelerate andthen let off the throttle will get stuck open jus enough to raise the rpms a little bit.
