There is a hole in my exhaust manifold
I was talking to my friend who is a mechanic and he said there is a slight hole in my exhaust manifold and said about $300 to repair/replace it. Is there anything I can do to either make it cheaper, or get a better exhaust manifold that will give me more power? I have a 1989 firebird with a 2.8L engine (V6). Thanks

I am so confused by these replies (although I appreciate them). There is a hole on my exhaust manifold, how does replacing other stuff help? I have a enw catylytic converter and catback on there, and it is basically as loud as I want to go. My brother's car is so loud that he gets pulled over constantly. Mine is actually louder, but his is a dark blue Dodge Stealth with 18" rims, tinted windows, and ricey exhaust. I think the cops don't have as much of a problem with loud domestic cars (that aren't riced out). Either that or they are just racist.
