Temp. gauge goes to 240!! but doesn't overheat??

Hehe thanks guys, ya I was reading some of the posts and I was thinking there is no second fan, or I'm blind. I did take the thermastat out and it did help it a little. Sometime this week I'm going to change the oil and flush the radiator out. And the car is running perfect, not to rich not to lean. Thanks for the help

Did you remove the fan cluch when you put the flex fan on, or the fan cowling(shroud) from the radiator?

You might want to put "A" thermostat back in(try a hi-flo type Hypertech,etc.),what happens is the water will go through the radiator too fast to cool down properly without one. Drag racers use a washer type of device that has a hole about the size of the thermo opening to slow the flow. You can find these in a Jegs ,or Summit catalog and they are fairly inexpencive.

The Flex fan was on it when I bought it. The fan shroud is still on it too.

I will have to try and maybe order a better thermostat.

ElCamino: can you explain to me what water wetter is?? I have never heard of that before, believe it or not! lol

Well I now I have...I thought other people had already said what I wanted to say for me...As soon as I saw a question unanswered I did add to the conversation...
