tell me what ya think
tell me what ya think
some one did this to a Z28 with tpi... http://www.eecs.tufts.edu/~askulte/htmls/ramair.html
looks like the idea i have been trying to come up with.. but that one looks better than what I have been kicking around.
I just recently bought a Z28 with a carberated motor.. if anyone can come up with a way for me to do the same... please let me know.. if its possible or even neccissary...
I do know one thing.. that stupid lil slit they give your carb to breath through dont look like very much...I'm tempted to cut a square through the bottom of the air cleaner duct and run some boxed ac in front of the radiator from the fog light cut outs.. to the hole I may cut... let me know what ya think.. and if your goofy enough to try it first.... let me know if it helped the carbed motor any... my guesse is it should.
I may just run to the junk yard and get some back up parts just incase its all screwed up

Did that when I was 16
Dual 4" Flexable ducting into the bottom of the "airbox" grey thing(gutted of course with a sawzall). Sealed with 1/8" clear Plexiglass adapters and Silicone(by Me..hehe)...When it was running, you could put your hands in front of the ducts and "affect" the idle quality of the car if you wanted to! I ran it with and without filters and With Dual 4" Holes being force-fed at speed and being necked down into the single MAF opening, I'd bet it was very effective from 40+mph. Kind of like breathing through a funnel with your head out of a moving car's window...on I-75..
Rainy days were also NOT cool with that setup. Don't ask...

If you send me your email address I'll send you a picture of the factory dual snorkle intake aircleaner Chevy used with 3rd gen carbed engines. It results in about 1/4 of a second off your 1320 times.

It does work I have seen one go faster than normal stock Irocs with that in it.
Question for Death's.Stalker what year is the car? Because if the car is a TBI car it might work even better. More air does produce more HP But only in the right amount.
