Can you do anything else, programming wise Zeph? Been reading about that on thirdgen... Buddy has a '87 GTA, needs a new chip. Didn't want to pay the money for a hypertech, with the minimal amount of gains it'd give.

You're my hero zeph.

I can do a lot of changes to the programming, but I am not too keen on major changes without the car being in my possession so I can see what is going on. Bad chip can damage the motor.

The easy things to change are VATS, EGR, Speed Limiter, Injector Sizes, Primary Fan on/off temps.

I don't know anything about the computers... Mine's carburated. >_> He said he's got an edelbrock intake on it (L98), 52mm TB, 3:73's, converted to MAP and has CAI, headers and single 3" straight pipe.

Don't know if any of that will affect the custom chip?

a good chip can really help is performance. Best thing to do is have it dyno tuned so you can monitor the progress of the chips.

As long as we're on chips... I'm told my car originally came with a "computer controlled" quadrajet? Can you explain to me what all the computer controlled with it?

The carburator was garbage when I got it...so I put the eddie manifold and carb on there... been having problems with it though. Could anything from this computer controlled crap be giving me issues?

I think it did minor carb adjustments as well as controlled the timing.

The computer isn't doing anthing anymore, besides maybe the lockup of the converter.

I can make it so the Cold Start Injector is bypassed, change the fan on/off temp, disable the EGR, remove the limiter if you have one.
