Black-outs..

I think blacks are cool, but they are dangerous as well as illeagal, heres the senario your going down the road facing the sun the guy infront of you stops hard for ,lets say a kid chasing a dog,so you hit the stoppers, and bang you've got company in the back seat, and it's YOUR FAULT you illeagally blocked the stock light. Don't get me wrong here like I said I think they look fantastic on the third gens, and I have them on my ride, but I modifiyed them somewhat, and the cops tend to leave me alone since I did this. Don't know if this will work but try this address http://iroc-t.cz28.com maybe it will give you some ideasof you own.

They make insurance that allows you to insure your car to any value you want. In 5 years when my car is completely redone to my liking, I'll insure it for 25k, it costs a good bit more, but if you have a clean record, it won't be that bad, and if some *** runs a redlight and broadsides you, you'll get a check for the amount YOU insured it to, not what the company says they think your car is worth. Blackouts aren't that bad, I'm bad in that I use brakelights alot, I see a nice muscle car drive by me and my head goes on a swivel, me noticing bright red brake lights come have saved me a half dozen times from rearending someone. I dont' think it's that big a deal though safety wise, I just think they're ugly.

It's all opinion, there are people out there who think a 12" exhaust tip and a 36" high wing look good.

Not tring to discurrage anybody from these, what I ment by saying you would be at fault,is that if someone died you COULD be held responsible,I'm not sure if I would want that to deal with and your insurance might find a loophole to get out of paying (they got BIG time lawyers for those purposes)for anything. You can replace a car,but not a life, and if your in jail you can't even replace the car. As I said it's just fuel for thought.

I also think GM sould have given the Camaro the same type of black outs like the F-birds,it wouldn't have cost them any more for this ,and it would have looked cool also.

Although, I dont really care for blackouts anyway, for you guys that say they would only look good on black Idont agree at all. Look at all teh black trim on my car. And it all looks good. I think they would look really good on mine.

I may not like them, but when someone hits their brakes with blackouts on, the red is very visible, even on a sunny day. It dims, but when you put your foot on the brake, those lights get BRIGHT, and you still have the 3rd brake light.
