T56 swappers!
T56 swappers!
ive got a t56 behind a 2piece rear main seal motor. now to make this work i had to get the flywheel from CENTERFORCE and the freaking thing is HEAVY!
i wanna get rid of it.
my question is can i put a, oh say 87 1 piece rear main seal motor in it and then get away with using a standard lt1 t56 flywheel?
dont get me wrong it works good. but man i have to be losing alot of power having to spin that thing!.
thanks

Man, I remember that centerforce flywheel...my first setup was a old style 2pc block and I had to go with it as well. That dude is heavy, but its billet steel. I always cringed when shifting around 66-6800
My second engine was an 86 one piece block and a lt-1 flywheel bolted right up. Course, with the mcleod twin disc it made it just as heavy
Unix:
With 28" tall tires on the rear and 4.56's- I tached right around 2000 or little more at 75mph in 6th.

Fidanza offers a flywheel for T56 retrofits on two-piece rear main seal applications. You can order it through thunder racing. Mine weighs only fourteen pounds and I can pick it up with one hand. I love this flywheel, it's perfect behind my 385, and it worked fine behind my old 305 as well.
