t5/wc ?'s

im looking for a world class t5 to return my car to original form and i came acrossed a t5 from a 91 firebird. it should be a wc if its the original but how do i know for sure. i looked at it and i didnt see anything saying wc or world class on it all i seen was a tag with "dkm" on the top of it.

also, is 500 bux too much for just the gearbox? it doesnt include even the bellhousing or anything else i need to swap the car back to a stick and it comes with a 30 day warranty but theres no way im gonna have the car completed in that length of time.

by the way its coming from a salvage yard so theres no telling how it was working before it got smashed.

what do you guys think?

Give me $500 and I'll drive it up to you and personally drop it off at your house, with bellhousing and everything! I've seen them go for $300 lately, if you want mine for that price let me know next weekend!

When it's out, I'll look to see if I have any kind of markings, or anything that'll will decipher WC and NWC.

$300- T5, Bellhousing, Shifter, Crossmember, Clutch setup (4k on it), Hydros, I might be forgetting something but that's mostly it. Even if it's not this weekend, whenever it is just let me know

EDIT: My T5 is WC.

Yeah, I cannot wait! Wednesday, getting home from school and unbolting everything! Thursday everything's going in! Many pics!

I got the tranny from a guy on this site. I just posted in the Parts Wanted forum and a guy from Maryland emailed me. He said it's got 11,000 on it so I'm assuming he meant since rebuild. When you get yours, I'd try just running through the gears, feeling for any weird things. A rebuild will never hurt, unless, like me, you're on a STRICT budget. Good luck man! Your car is already sweet...but it with a 6-speed

EDIT: Doug! I remember yesterday in the For Sale forum there was a T56 w/ bent shift fork and bad 5th gear synchro for $500! Might be something to look at.

thanks for the compliment man Yeah id look at that tranny now but im currently flat broke. Have to get my insurance paid off to my mom and then i can start to save. Luckily im 17 and dont have any real expenses so i can just save all winter and i should have enough for the swap. And yeah the 350 is sooo much fun right now i cant imagine how insane its going to be when i can hammer through the gears. I'm definitly on a strict budget too so when i get mine ill probably just bolt it in and hope for the best. Also hoping its going to fix my vibe problem because i think my tq converter has a broken fin or 2 well see when i get it out. Anyways lots of mods im doing this winter ill keep everyone posted as well....my cars going to be so awesome next summer!!!
