Swaybars
Swaybars
Looking to get new swaybars for my '86 Base firebird... Originally checked out topdown solutions, and they had a 24mm rear for sale. Though this seems small to me. I don't know much about it, but I've heard many people talking about 32mm rear's.
Any opinions/information on this would be helpful, as well as links to where I can buy them for a reasonable price.
Would like to know what the car had on it stock. As-is I can corner about as well as a friend's '87 GTA... so she's not that bad.

The SFC's are totally different designs. The Alston ones (sold by TDS) connect the subframes directly. The Sponh ones connect to the rear subframe and run up the edge of the body at the pinchrail, and have a crossbrace that connects to the front subframe. Either one offers major benefits, and it's possible to run both at once, which makes the chassis VERY rigid.
36mm front and 24mm rear is considered an excellent combination by a lot of people. Some guys say the 24mm rear makes the car oversteer too much and prefer a slightly smaller bar. 32mm in the back would be dangerous if anything, because it would tend to lift the inside tire when going around corners (there's not much weight back there.)
I don't know the stock specs for sure, but the numbers 30-32mm front and 19-21mm rear come to mind.
