Suspension

i have plans this summer to work on the suspension of my '83 Z.

as of right now it is completely stock.

i would like to keep the stock ride height.

so i'm pretty much looking for advice as to what aftermarket suspension parts i should get to improve the car's handling without lowering it.

i want my car to have the "stock" appearence, but i also want a car i can have fun with on the backroads and onramps!

any suggestion are appreciated... THANKS!

Subframe connectors, LCA's, Panhard rod, LCA relocation brackets, fully adj. shocks and struts, STB, new sway bars if they are the tiny ones, wonderbar for steering, stiffer springs. That should get you well on your way.

Agreed...I would do the subframe connectors first, then the wonderbar followed by LCA's, PHR and swaybars. Then if you want more out of it, get shocks and springs followed by a strut tower brace and LCA relocators. Last of all (if you wanna spend the money) a tubular torque arm that mounts to the crossmember or tunnel instead of the tranny tailhousing will fix most traction problems.

Since you have a 83 I would do the following:
1) Shocks and Struts ***
2) SFC's
3) Rear LCA's
4) Pandard Bar
5) STB
6) Steering box support ( if your Z does not have one) aka wonder bar.
7) End links
This is a fair amount money to invest, so I would give a lot of thought to it. #1 *** a must, before anything else.

if you get new shocks and struts get a coil over kit for the front not sure if you can even get them for the back. koni makes amazing performance struts
