Question superram VS. miniram

need any advise/feedback about these induction systems. I'm looking to replace the stock plenum and runners and haven't had enough info about which is better or gives more bang for the buck. I also don't know how the miniram works as far as emissions go. If anyone has either of these and has any pro's or con's I would really appreciate it. I would also love to get some info on what you need to do with your emissions and sensors if you do install the miniram. Any suggestions on which brand of miniram, ie holley, tpi, etc would also help. Thanks.

I have used the Accel SR and found it to be pretty decent. Now the hot new thing is the Holley Stealth Ram. The downside to it is there is no emmissions ability. If you want to meet emmissions then the SR is probably a better choice of the two. There is plenty of low end torque in the SR.

Isn't the Miniram by Myron Cottrell? I was talking to the Co-Owner of HiTech Motorsport and he told me he started his own shop because of Myron. He asked Myron about some mods for his Vette and the reply was "You wanna spend $250 or some real money?" The guy, Bart, just said "Know what? I don't think we are going to get along." and left.

From what I have heard, Myron's stuff tends to be pricy and his customer service is the crapper. Years ago when I asked him about the comparison betwen his stuff and the SR, his answer was to the effect that the MR was the best in town and that the SR was little better than stock. First time I had the SR on I could feel the differnce and it was highlighted more with the headers and even more when Lingenfelter tuned the EPROM.

yeah, that myron guys sounds like a real jerk. even if it were best in town for the price compared to others it still isn't worth it.

i'd go elsewhere..it's too bad lingenfelter isn't doing l98 setups much more.

Ditto here! Though I can't compare it to a manifold I never owned (the Super Ram), I do know that it out performs my TPI in every way.

You can't beat the Superram-219 combo for passing emissions and daily driving/mileage.

I had that combo and it was pretty good. Of course, without the EGR, AIR system and charcoal canister, I'm not sure about the passing emmissions part.

I would have passed without that stuff with just a tailpipe sniffer.

I've passed with bigger cams than that 219.

I love my SR & 219* cam setup. Especially with the 6 speed! It might be a little hard to work on but teh low end torque is awsome.

What's with the Myron Cottrel bashing?

I've never had any bad service from his shop, and not EVERYTHING is overpriced. I got my best deal on Edelbrock Headers from TPIS, and shipping was super fast. Each time I've ordered they have done a good job of getting the stuff to me in reasonable time.

As to their prices, you better re-check their catalog because the prices aren't all that worse than most shops. Of course, they aren't summit or Jegs, but they will certainly be better priced than NAPA.

On Myron's bragging about his stuff: It's sales. Everyone that ever sells something has to sell up their stuff. Take it as sales-speak and use critical thinking.

I've got a Miniram and look forward to bolting it onto my project engine this fall.

carry on then, i wish i could sell my miniram....everything i've gotten from tpis has been wasted money except for the air foil and regulator. even the regulator needed work.

Yikes! That airfoil (along with every other company's airfoils) have to be one of THE biggest wastes of money ever to hit the aftermarket. I've seen those things tested and they don't do squat.

Not trying to flame you... it just took me a little by surprise.
