Supercharged TPI 1/4 times
Supercharged TPI 1/4 times
I'm curious to see what some of you blown (no spray) guys are running. Seeing how this will be one of my next mods to rag on the 305 til it blows, I just wanna know what kinds of blowers are working good for which people. Thanks....
There aren't too many supercharged TPI's out there, especially 305's. My car as way too many mods to list here, so here are just a couple of highlights:
ATI D1SC.
The first third gen to use ATI's twin hi-flow intercoolers. There is no kit available for the third gen.
A true 2-1/2" mandrel bent exhaust system with a pair of '69 Z28 style chambered mufflers (in the stock location).
If you want more explanation and pics of my car, click on "SC Z!!!" in my sig.

Actually I have visited your website numerous times. I like what you have done with it, and want to do something similar......and a little less drastic than Preston Smith.
Thanks for the reply, and still looking forward to the others, even if you are 350s.

how do you know your the first ever thirdgen with the twin highflows??
Simple. I worked with ATI to develop a parts list. I was given working drawings on all three twin IC designs (LT1 Camaro, LS1 Camaro & C5 Corvette) to determine which one would work. Once I selected one, ATI shipped them to me with a slew of pipes and hoses. I then built brackets for the IC's, assembled the tubing and put together a parts list. All the details and a bunch of pics can be seen at:

not arguing just asking....they seem to tell everyone that when they purchase a kit.
personally i think their directions are worthless for the most part. while i really like the head unit and few misc. parts i feel they could do a little better job on their kits for the money. but, someone always has to complain right?
that was a nice thread link though!! nice car.

I am not sure if you mean stock LTR tpi numbers, or aftermarket tpi's. I am running a superam system and a P1-SC procharger on a 355, and should see low 10's this year, mid-nines with a 150 shot on top. If you run the stock style LTR set up you can hit the tens with enough boost.
As for your question on times for supercharged runs. My best is a 12.7 @ 108. My best before the blower was 14.2 I think in the high 90's. I have a 92' 350 with a Paxton running 6-8 psi. So far the system has run very well with some long road trips getting up to 20 mpg. Other mods. are: SLP headers and cat. back exhaust, needed 30# inj. and an adj. pres. regulator for the fuel. Also needed BF drag radials to launch. My times were on a pretty cold day at Milan dragway and were getting better when I launched at 1500 - 2000 rpms. This winter I hope to add SLP high flow intake runners and 1.6 rockers. Trying for low 12's. Hope this gives you some insight.
