Stumbling at 35 and 55?

Question Stumbling at 35 and 55?

I have a friend with a 87 iroc-z with a 305 tpi and an a4
he said that the car stumbles at 35 and again at 55 but has good power and runs fine everywhere else any ideas?

That sounds like at the top of 1st and 2nd gear, right? If so, a clogged fuel filter or a dying fuel pump could well be the culprits. Engine stumbles at the top of the gear where fuel demand is greatest.

I concur, and would like to add that the air filter can do the same thing if it's appropriately dirty.
