exhaust question

I have a 2-chamber Flowmaster. But I was thinking about replacing the Flowmaster with the Hooker Maximum Flow muffler.

I've heard that backpressure is good for the car. But, I also heard that backpressure is bad for the car.

All I'm looking for is more power and torque.

Any opinions/comments/suggestions appreciated.

Back Pressure is good, if u lose a bunch u lose power and torque. Flowmaster mufflers are really nice same with hookers, you dont need a new muffler IMHO, if u want more power get a victor intake manifold from edlebrock for $216 or the edlebrock performer intake manifold for $157 at summit. Those intake manifolds add anywhere from 15-20hp/15-25lb-tq and a very nice upgrade. Dont worry about back pressure, those damned *** cars with true duels lose alot and should worry (ive seen them after i laugh for about 2 hours strait) later

I doubt you'll notice any difference between the two mufflers. If you want more power get a catback and some headers for your exhaust.

yeah, that's what I was thinking, but I wasn't totally sure.

I did notice hp, tq, and mpg increase with the flowmaster over stock though. And i love the flowmaster sound.

Recently i removed my flowmaster cat-back system and drove the car around. It was LOUD, but I didn't notice a whole lot of difference...maybe slightly.

Okay, headers and intake it is. Thanks guys.
