I know that this can be a million things, but I am looking for someone that might have had the same problem as me, or if you have insight, please share.

Well, as the title implies, while driving the car at cruising speeds, there is this strange vibration that comes out of nowhere and lasts a few seconds...it isnt the entire car, but it feels like it is coming from the passenger side area right in the area between the engine and the passenger seat. I can kind of feel it in the gas pedal also. You can hear it as well, its not incredibly loud, but loud enough to hear. Imagine if your exhaust at the cat was held on by a thread and was knocking around...thats what it feels like (lol and no thats not what it is, I checked)...but my initial thought was a broken tranny mount, as I have heard they are kind of common. Are there any ways to check for a broken mount while the transmission is in the car? Any other ideas? I know I ask a new question every week in here, but the car had a few quirks when I bought it, and I have just gotten around to getting to the issues with winter break at college and all. Thanks for any help.

Probably a loose cat heat shield or AIR pipe to the cat. Very common problem on F-bodys.

 

Is it a whirring? Humming? Groaning? Shuddering?

 

AIR pipe is completely gone, and I think the heat sheilds are solid

It is more of a shuddering/knocking, as if something were shaking against the body
