Stock air filter swap results

I took my stock air filter setup off my 89 rs 305 5speed and replaced with a 3" open element..... Man what a difference, I feel like I got a new engine. Absolutly great! It almost sounds turboish when you hit it, unbleavible results. Next its the exhaust.

yeah man, a 3 inch open element really woke my lg4 up. I had a dual snorkel air cleaner on before and the open element put out better results. Sounds nice when you punch it

Take it to the track and run 3 passes with and 3 without and let us know. That or a dyno, which would be better.

An open element is a replacement for the stock air filter assemblys on carbed and tbi 3rd gens. Its basically a circular filter with a top and base. Lets a lot more air get in.

true, but the drawback is that your sucking in hot air that the hot motor is producing...which isnt good for performance. u feel a power gain b/c the motor doesnt have to pull the air through any kind of intake/restrictions...just straight through the filter. but it does look alot cooler too.

I picked up 4ths in the 8th by swapping out my air filter you can also just pop the top off your stock filter at the track to see how much of an improvment it will make on your car. I had a cam and intake on mine when I went to the Open element filter.
