Stock 88 305 TBI how to change to Intake Manifold n Carbureator

I have a stock 88 Camaro with the fuel injection on it...just my luck eh? I want to switch it over to a 4 barrel carb n run that carb with a nice intake manifold....problem is i dont really kno how the conversion works and is it worth it? Also if i do the conversion what is the best Intake/Carb combo to run on the 305 stocker?

if u wanna put a carb. on it,u have to buy a new distributor as well, like an H.E.I. i changed my TPI to carb so i know what ur tryin to do. u have to cut the connector off the 1 that gives power to the dist. (it has 1 red and 1 white-for the tach). change it and put a connector that will fit into an HEI. and if u have a 700-R4,u have to find a new way to lock up the convertor.

In addition to the distributor issues you also have to address fuel delivery. TBI runs at about 14 PSI (regulated) and a carb only wants about 6 PSI. A Mallory 3-port bypass style regulator can be used to bring the higher pressure of the factory electric fuel pump down to a carb-friendly 6 PSI. I am in process of doing this with a 92 RS 305 TBI car right now.
