Here's my problem, every once in awhile i will try to start my car, hit the starter and it just sits there. I'll keep trying and it wwill do the same thing just sit there not responding at all when i hit the starter(lights, radio, wipers, etc work) then I go and give it one last try and it fires up and runs like nothing ever happened. Any ideas what might be going, or what i could check out? Thanks for any ideas we're just scratchin our heads over this one

P.S. It's a 89' Iroc-Z with the 350 and 81,000 miles

 

Sounds like a sticky starter solenoid. Next time it happens take a hammer or something and tap on the solenoid (fairly hard but don't break it) and see if it starts after that...if so you need to clean or maybe replace the solenoid.
