Starting problem?

Last Sunday went to start up my cars all started except the 85,all it did was click a few times and then just a low whining sound, checked the battery and alt all were good, was very cold that week, due to work did not have much time to check it out better, tried a few times during the week same thing click and whine,so today being warm about 55 thought I pull the starter, tried it one more time and it started right up runs fine now any ideas before I go any further?

make sure your connections are clean to start with. you say it was cold, your batt may not have enough cold cranking amps or was on a low charge making the equivelant of not enough cold cranking amps.

how do you know your battery is good?, what did you use to test it?
it may be too weak to start in the cold but fine when warmer
