Starter
my starter needs to be replaced and i'm in a circle. I call the dealerships and they only get a part for the car and when I call Summit racing they need specifics about the part. How do I find out what I need? I need to know how many teeth are on the flywheel and if it is straightaccross or stagard.
well you can find out how many teeth there are or buy the csi mini starter and that is universal mine will mount like 4 different ways.
Otherwise you need to do some research with your vin # you should be able to find out if it is a 1 or 2 piece rear main then you can find out which fly wheel you have.

Eyeball the 2 bolts holding your starter. If they are in line (in a line parallel to the flexplate), you have the small flexplate, 153 teeth. If they are staggered, you have the large flexplate, 168 teeth.
If you need a hi perf unit, get it at Summit. Stock replacement, Autozone has them for about 30 bucks complete with solenoid. Lifetime warranty.
