Springs and Struts Question
My car is lowered. I am not sure if my stock springs were cut or not being how the previous owner lowered the ride. if i jack my car would there be a way 2 know if these springs were the stock ones cut? as for the struts is there a way to know if its the stock ones. this one guy wants 2 sell me KYB Struts and Eibach springs both new. i am thinkin of gettin em we r gonna discuss a price later. i wanna jack my car 2morrow and check it out but i wanna know what i need 2 look for. as u can tell i am car stupid. but hey im learnin on this ride and we all gotta start somwhere! thanx all!

Well... It depends how the guy worked on the car. If he liked to get things done cheap but still make it look right and last long he may have cut the coils and painted the ends so they wouldn't rust. If he did that a while ago it will be very hard to tell if their cut or not. Another thing you could do is find out how many coils there are in a stock spring and compare to what you have now.
As for the shocks, you should be able to see some sort of brand name badging on it if you wipe it clean. If there absolutley blank than they're more than likley stock.
I would just go ahead and replace everything if you doubt any of the excisting suspension. (Money providing)

No money now but the guy said he will charge me 400 for the new springs and the KYB's whenever i come up with the cash. thanx for the insight man i do have sum doubts but i'll see when iinspect my **** out
Go see a mechanic. They will have a book on ride heights and what not. It will tell you where to get what measurements. If it is too low, change the suspension. When you take out the rear shocks, you can easily drop the rear end without doing much more other than removing the cross bars. From there you can slip out the old springs and slip in some new ones.
