Speedometer doesn't work

Speedometer doesn't work

i have a 91 z28 305tpi HO auto trans, and my speedometer doesn not work, anyone have any suggestion on what i should try to figure out why??

The VSS go bad from time to time and are easy to replace. Although I am interested in why Dave is asking about the CEL.

just check your connection so the speedo sensor in the back drivers side of the tranny. is your electronic or mechanical? 91 i would think electric. might just be a bad connection.

if the CEL is on(or a code for VSS set), it almost garranties the sensor or wiring between it and the ECM is bad, if there is no code, there is a problem between the ECM and the speedo
