Does the '86 Camaro IROC have a cable driven speedo or electronic ?

Cable. They didn't start using the electronic speedo till '90 IIRC.

If it is the same, look on the driver side near the end of the tranny there should be something coming out if the tranny. See if it is a cable or a couple of wires.
