Spark Plugs?

Hello. This is my first post.

My dad is getting ready to purchase a 1987 Camaro i-rocz, and the owner said we need to get some new spark plugs for it, he is going to install (he is a mechanic). I was wondering, should we stick with the AC-Delco Platinums, or go with NGK?

I believe the car still has the stock AC-Delco plugs in it, but I was wondering if it would be better to go with the NGK's....

Thanks in advance.

Re: Spark Plugs?

Just go with regular AC Delco plugs. You don't need to spend eleventy billion dollars on fancy plugs unless you are running a pretty stout race motor and have a specialized ignition....

BTW - welcome to the site!

Re: Spark Plugs?

Alright, thanks for the welcome and the advice. I'll go ahead and get a set of AC-Delco plugs. I was doing quite a bit of searching and was divided between NGK and AC-Delco. What I interpreted was that basically if your car is basically stock and whatnot, just stick with the AC-Delco because you're not going to notice a difference with other more expensive plugs. Thanks again!

Re: Spark Plugs?

Yup, I picked up some regular AC-Delco plugs with a 2-year warranty. [I love warranties lol]. So I gave them to the current owner of the car, and hes puttin those in, slappin on some ceramic pads, changing all the belts and everything before we pick it up on Tuesday; I can't wait!

Thanks a lot guys for all of your help so far. I really appreciate it.
