Post something loose/broken in the front end???

i hit an uneven point in the road fairly hard cause i didnt see it. and i think something might have broken off. shortly after i hit it, my front right tire felt like it ran over something pretty violently but i couldn't see anything in the road. now there is a loud noise coming from the front end and i can't tell what it is. everything seems firm and nothing loose but i cant tell if something is missing or broken. it also makes a clunking noise when it shifts from first ot second. it feels like its coming from the front middle of the car, but its hard to tell. any ideas?!?!?!

clunking sound from 1 to 2? Have you checked your Tranny mount? Its a long shot but an idea.

Have a friend get in the car and put it in gear with their foot FIRMLY on the brake. Have them apply pressure to the gas and see if the tranny starts to pick up from the crossmember. It should move only a little bit, perhaps .5 to 1 inch, if it is still ok. It will move a few inches if it is broken. You'll know... you'll see the mount is ripped.

Good luck bro.
