SLP's 92 Firehawk rim question

Do the rims you buy that are advertised for our 82-92 cars that run the 275/40/17 need spacers or were they built in consideration for that and if they do require them, are they included with the rims when bought as a set?
Second, anybody have pics of these rims on an 85-90 Camaro, especially a white one??

The SLP Firehawk wheel are discontinued.

I bought a set last year and the did come with .25" spacers and special lugnuts to be used with the spacers. The spacer is for cars that don't have 1LE front brakes. I never tried running them with the stock braked with out the spacer so I cann't say for certain that you have to use the spacer.

i believe you can still buy those. they are still in new mag ads. the correct size for a 3rd gen would be a 255/45/17 in a 17 inch size. i think the middle number is a 45... anyways, the 275/40/17s hit the rolled quarter in the rear. see it all to often

The second run of the Ronal "Firehawk" fimes have been discontinued. If you find a set then you are lucky, cause I don't think people will be letting these rims go again.

I wish I could have afforded a set for my GTA. I think it would have looked awesome.

I haven't had any rubbing problem with 275/40/17s even autocrossing, but car is sprung a little on the hard side.

the 275/40/17s rub a little bit in the back. when you hit a good bump or hole, the roll on the rear quarter will brush the sidewall and leave little lines that look like slices. they arnt really deep, but when you have enough of them, it will destroy the integrity of the tire making it weak. thats with a 4thgen wheel size, not sure on the 3rdgens. prob different with the offset. im guessing it makes a difference with the spacers used also.

The Ronal "Firehawk" style rims were MADE to fit the thirdgen body, and will fit without the rear without any adapters, or rolling of the wheel wells.

As far as the front, I beleive it was mentioned that they were originally fitted for a 1LE setup, I do not think you need spacers in that case, but I do not own a 1LE car. But even 1LE cars used the same rims as non 1LE cars. So fitment shouldn't be a problem.

I can test the wheels on my car with and without the spacers. I just need to convince my friend to take the fronts off his car so I can put them on mine.
He has the Baer brakes on his car so he didn't use the spacers that came with the wheels.
