Re: Which size headers?

I have those headers. They tuck up nice and tight. Easy install. Only thing i had to do was weld in an O2 sensor bung and have them coated.

Those are the TES headers with emmisions fittings and the y-pipe. A bit more expensive than some others, but a top quality header, with none of the long tube clearance issues.

Re: Which size headers?

Does anybody know the size of the exhaust port on a stock 305 TPI head? If its more than 1.5", than it would make sense to go with a header larger than 1.5"???

Would these headers see the same gains http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...17&prmenbr=361
Would there be noticeable perf. gains over the Hedman w/ the TES's?

For low and midrange power they should be almost equal, however once you start to wind that motor out, the longtubes will shine.

I actually have a set of Hedmann long tubes that I've been debating on selling. They have very minor surface rust, and a few small dings in them, but neither of those things will affect performance much.

Either those or my TES's will be for sale in a few months.

Dang.. I dont want long tubes I dont want to deal with the hassle of no ground clearance. Otherwise I would love them. How much you looking for on your TES's?

Haven't decided which ones to sell yet.....my car is almost finished, so when I start driving it I'll get a feel for how the motor responds to the TES's, and then I'll decide whether or not I wanna swap to the LT's that I bought for it. If I do swap, I'll prolly ask somewhere between $150 and $200 for the headers and the y-pipe.

Well, do you think I wold be able to keep a cat if I use LT's? If so, I might consider LT's.. otherwise, mid's or shorties will have to be suffice.
